Controversial deal on council overtime pay due to come into force this week

An agreement which would see many city council staff in Plymouth lose their contractual overtime and maternity pay is still due to come into force at the end of this week.

Unison have been de recognised by the city council after they refused to sign the deal and have moved out of their civic centre office.

They held a demonstration in the city centre last week and say they are only willing to engage in further talks if the city council are willing to renegotiate the deal.

The city council has always maintained that without the agreement ,they will have to make many more posts redundant.

Unison say more than 1000 people have backed their stance on a Facebook page.
