Computer glitch means hundreds told they don't have a secondary school place

A computer glitch has meant hundreds of Plymouth parents have been wrongly told that their children don't have a secondary school place.

The city council say they are working to rectify the problems and are sending out letters to all parents today.

If parents have 'place offered' written against any of their preferences online, then they do have a place at that school and should ignore the rest of the email.

The local authority says actually nine out of ten young people in the city do have a place at their preferred school.
