Commuters face problems due to strong winds

The Tamar Bridge has been closed to high sided vehicles and motorbikes due to strong winds this morning.

Gusts of up to sixty eight miles an hour have been battering the city overnight.

One lane of the bridge is also closed to traffic - it means double decker buses are also unable to cross the bridge, which is causing problems for many school children.

Plymouth citybus say they are holding the buses in Saltash until they are allowed to cross or can get smaller vehicles in place.

The Cremyll ferry is also out of action.
