City council negotiating with potential buyers for Pavilions

The city council's in negotiations with providers to keep an ice rink in Plymouth.

That could mean updating the rink at the Pavilions or a new facility altogether.

Yesterday it emerged there could be as many as 20 job losses at the leisure centre when the fun pool closes and the Life centre opens at the end of march.

That's because bosses are anticipating 140-thousand fewer customers every year - but the ice rink will stay open until september.

Campaigners have fought to keep a rink in the city and the council say they're dedicated to ensuring that happens.

The city council is still looking for a buyer for the building.
