Cannabis doesn't slow MS, according to researchers

There is no evidence to suggest that cannabis use will slow down the progression of multiple sclerosis, according to researchers from the Peninsula medical school.

The group will present their findings to a national conference in Brighton today.

Although the eight year study found that some of the symptoms like muscle pain, were eased by cannabis, it couldn't stop the disease from progressing.

They did find that some people with less advanced MS did benefit.

Professor John Zajicek says it's important that Devon continues to be at the forefront of this type of research and that Plymouth University has already announced significant funding.
