Campaigners seek injunction to halt preliminary work on incinerator

Campaigners should find out in the next couple of days whether they've been successful in stopping preliminary work on the site of the Devonport incinerator - at least temporarily.

Lawyers acting on their behalf have asked the High Court to issue an injunction against MVV and the city council - to stop any further work being done on site until any judicial review is complete.

PlymWIN launched a legal battle against the council's decision to grant planning permission for the facility two weeks ago.

MVV have maintained the site would adhere to all safety regulations and is an efficient way of preventing waste going to landfill.

The city council have until Friday to respond to Plymwin's concerns.
