Campaigners frustrated as Hooe quarry homes decision delayed again

Campaigners say they're frustrated that a decision on whether 200 homes should be built on the old Hooe Quarry has been delayed again.

The city council says it wants more information on the numbers of affordable homes that would be included.

This is the second time a decision has been deferred.

Councillors initially voted to reject the proposals yesterday, but then decided to seek further details on some issues.

Robin Blythe Lord is the chair of the Plym Valley Heritage Association - he doesn't want the homes built there and says he doesn't understand why the information the council has asked for will make any difference to their planning decision.

Chair of the planning committee councillor John Lock says they have to be certain they have all the facts, particularly as developers have the right to appeal any failed applications.
