Busy year for city charity providing debt advice

A Plymouth charity helping those who have got into debt say they have bought a cooker and even a bed for families over the past twelve months.

Christians Against Poverty launched their debt advice service in 2010 and since then dozens of people have sought their help.

The charity helps people to budget and gradually pay off their debts and has a hardship fund for those seriously in need.

It’s estimated that around 61% of people with money worries wait over a year before taking action to address it.
