Business leaders want to maximise impact of Americas cup

It's hoped Plymouth could launch its very own marine festival on the back of the Americas cup this autumn.

The week long series of sailing races in September could bring in around twenty million pounds to the city's economy, according to estimates.

Business leaders have been meeting this week to discuss the potential impact on the city.

It's hoped the city may be able to attract more investment for the regeneration of Millbay and to showcase Plymouth's waterfront.

The event begins on September 10th.
