Body and van found in double murder investigation

The remains of one individual and a vehicle have been uncovered following excavations at farmland near St Austell.

A double murder investigation is underway after David Griffiths, originally from Plymouth, and Brett Flournoy from Merseyside went missing from the Tamar Bridge car park on June 16th.

A 28 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of their murder.

Officers say they haven't been able to positively identify the vehicle as it has been damaged by fire and is covered in soil - but it's believed to be the Citreon Berlingo van they've been searching for.

It will be at least forty eight hours before the forensic examination is complete - officers say the families of the two men have been informed of the developments.
