Badger cull to be piloted

A Devon farmer has welcomed the news that a major badger cull in England will go ahead, in a bid to tackle TB in cattle.

Two pilots will be carried out as well as more consultation before the government goes ahead with a mass cull.

The RSPCA has described the decision as a "black day for badgers" but Devon farmer David Horton says it's a step in the right direction.

He's also from the Devon branch of the national farmers union. He says this is important for local farmers, as thousands of cattle died from the disease last year alone.
