Argyle fans cautiously celebrate news that funding for deal in place

The champagne was opened by fans last night following the news from Argyle's administrator that the funding has been secured to keep the club alive.

Fans were less than jubilant when they heard the statement read out by acting chairman Peter Ridsdale, as  they're still waiting for the deal to be signed and for football league approval.

That's expected to happen over the Bank holiday weekend.

Fans kept up their vigil last night at Home Park - the plan is to light their 125th candle today.

Meanwhile a planned fans' march from the city centre to Home Park will still begin at 1pm - organisers say they want to see the deal signed, sealed and delivered.
