Argyle administrator insists Irish consortium are still on board

Plymouth Argyle's administrator has denied that there is a  problem with negotiations involving a mystery Irish consortium.

After apparently being contacted by a number of worried fans, conservative councillor Paul Buttivant released a statement saying he was still ready willing and financially capable of buying the club.

The team representing James Brent say they have heard no rumours about any deal falling through.

Paul Buttivant was never named as a preferred bidder despite expressing interest, as administrators say he had never proved he had the necessary funds.

The identity of the Irish consortium is due to be revealed on June 14th.
