Airport job cuts 'understandable' says chamber

The loss of eleven jobs at Plymouth Airport is regrettable, but in some ways understandable, according to the city's chamber of commerce.

Air South west have revealed that they are moving their operations centre to Humberside.

Flights to London Gatwick have already been scrapped, putting 21 jobs at risk.

A study looking at the airport's value and  its importance to investors and business people is due to be completed in June.

Chair of the chamber of commerce David Parlby says this latest move suggests the airline does actually want to stay in Plymouth because they're making efficiencies and seem to be trying to make it work.
