A waterfront BID would benefit all, says local businesswoman

A Plymouth business woman is backing plans for a Business Improvement District in the city's waterfront area.

Lucy Luxmore owns a number of properties in Plymouth, only one of which is on the waterfront, but she claims a BID would benefit all city businesses.

580 businesses will vote on whether they agree to pay a levy of around 1.5% of their rateable value.

There has been criticism of the proposals, with some claiming it will hit independent businesses but Lucy Luxmore of Haddington Apartments says all businesses would benefit from an extra buzz on the waterfront.
