50 arrests made in Plymouth police crackdown

Plymouth police say a recent operation to crack down on crimes like shoplifting, burglary and drug dealing was a success.

Around 50 arrests were made during Operation Endurance.

The idea was to catch outstanding suspects by acting on intelligence from the community and making officers more visible.

During the second phase of the crack down, automatic number plate recognition was also used - 2 vehicles were seized during this phase and the drivers dealt with for having no licence and no insurance.
