£4.5m bid to improve transport in Dartmoor

A multi million pound bid is due to be submitted to the government within the next few weeks for help in developing more sustainable and environmentally friendly ways of travelling around Dartmoor National Park.

Devon County Council is trying to secure the funding in order to transform how visitors enjoy and explore Dartmoor.

£4.5million would be spent enhancing bus services, providing more sustainable transport and improving bicycle hire facilities in a bid to reduce congestion, cut carbon emissions and tackle moorland collisions.

Residents in the county are currently being consulted on the plans.
