Radio Plymouth Ltd. was formed seven years ago. Between then and going on the air full time we trialled our programme format and ideas with special, short term, broadcasts centred around the UK Firework Championship held each year in the city.

When we applied for the full time licence, six other companies were also in the race. Now we are the only radio station broadcasting all of its output from central studios and specifically for Plymouth.

Local and individual investors are Hugh Michelmore, Christine Gatehouse, Richard Bath, Hugh Scully, Karen Stockdale, Phillip Schofield, Charles Howeson, Paul Hussell and David Rodgers. Radio Plymouth Ltd also has corporate investment from the Litt Corporation in London. 

Radio Plymouth's board is chaired by David Rodgers and comprises shareholders from the local investor group and the Litt Corporation.
