Disabled Activity Day
Disabled Activity Day
People with disabilities and their families, friends and carers gathered on Plymouth Hoe today for the first ever disabled activity day in Plymouth.
Wheelchair user David Proud who plays Adam Best in Eastenders, and is patron of the charity Scootalong, opened the event at 10am.
It was the first event of its kind in the city, but the organisers are hoping to make it an annual event.
Disabled and able-bodied people were invited to see demonstrations on wheelchair dancing, football and basketball and take part in sports events.
The event was about informing able-bodied people, as many struggle to accept disability because they don't understand it.
With the great weather and the fabulous atmosphere, it was a successful day!
